Step aboard our beautifully restored heritage train at Paekākāriki, Paraparaumu or Waikanae for an exclusive evening rail experience, perfect for celebrating with colleagues, friends or family.

Settle into the timeless surroundings of our heritage carriages as our classic Da class diesel electric locomotive takes you north along the Kāpiti Coast. From the moment you step aboard, the journey becomes part of the occasion — a chance to relax, enjoy good company and soak up the atmosphere of a truly special Christmas experience.

Christmas at Tatum

Your destination is the beautiful Tatum, where an exclusive Christmas celebration awaits.

Step from the train and settle in for a generous Kiwi-style Christmas feast, specially prepared by Tatum’s talented chefs. Throughout your time at Tatum, a cash bar will also be available, giving you the chance to raise a glass, relax and enjoy the occasion with colleagues, friends or family.

More than your standard pre-Christmas get together, this is an experience designed to make the festive season feel a little more special. From travelling aboard your private heritage train to sitting down together for a wonderful meal at Tatum, every part of the day is an opportunity to slow down, catch up and celebrate in style.

The festive buffet will feature the favourites of the season, centred around Champagne Ham with an Orange Marmalade Glaze and Roasted Beef served with a rich Red Wine Jus. These will be accompanied by fresh bread rolls, roasted mixed vegetables, buttered potatoes and a crisp green salad finished with balsamic dressing.

And, of course, there’s always room for something sweet at Christmas. Finish with a beautiful Kiwi Pavlova, followed by tea and coffee — the perfect conclusion to a relaxed Christmas feast.
