This is more than just a train ride — it's a chance to make some magical Christmas memories, enjoy a relaxing journey through beautiful countryside and experience the nostalgia of travelling by heritage train.

Meet Santa at Seddon Station
The highlight of your journey awaits at Seddon Station, where Santa will be waiting in his very own Christmas Grotto!
Bring the little ones along to say hello to Santa, soak up the festive atmosphere and capture those all-important Christmas photos.
While you're in Seddon, take the opportunity to explore the Seddon Community Markets, browse local stalls, discover some Christmas goodies and perhaps find a few special treasures to take home.
A Christmas Journey by Heritage Train
Your adventure begins at Blenheim Railway Station, conveniently located in the same parking area as the Blenheim i-SITE.
From here, settle into one of Steam Incorporated’s original, lovingly restored heritage carriages and enjoy the unique experience of travelling through the Marlborough countryside by heritage train.
Leading the train is Di 1102, a Diesel Electric locomotive rebuilt over many years by the team at Diesel Traction Group, bringing plenty of classic railway character to your Christmas adventure.
As we leave Blenheim behind, the scenery quickly opens up into the beautiful Marlborough landscape.
The journey takes you south through the rolling hills and vineyards of Marlborough, winding its way through the Dashwood Pass before emerging into the spectacular Awatere Valley. The final stretch of the journey crosses the Awatere River via the historic Awatere Road Rail Bridge, built during the same period as the heritage carriages you'll be travelling in.
For those who really want to take in the scenery, our heritage carriages feature balconies at both ends, providing the perfect spot to step outside, enjoy the fresh air and watch the Marlborough landscape roll past.
